Told you I'd be back, guess you didn't expect so soon...

Here's a picture recap of our Christmas. The adventure began with an "Uh-Oh Moment" by your truly. About 50 miles outside of Richmond on our way to NC, we ran out of gas! I had forgotten to fill up the minivan (yes, that's right I said minivan)! Did I mention anything before about being sleep deprived? Luckily it happened at the moment where we could coast off of I-85 onto an exit ramp. And thankfully, Jason only had to run .4 miles to and from to get us a can of gas. I know that I've said before that Jackson was the one who always kept things interesting. Guess I'm just trying to keep up!

Hensley/Grayson Christmas!

Facebook did me in, but now I'm back!

Hello to anyone who held out hope that I would ever write on this blog again. I have to admit that Facebook became a slight addiction at the end of last summer then baby-brain/sleep deprivation kicked into high gear last fall and despite my best attempts to date still has substantial momentum! Anyone know how to get a baby to sleep? If so I'm all ears! So traveling down memory late a bit from last July leading up to Christmas, here is what we've been up to in pictures...

Miles is here!

Welcome Miles William Carlyon! His birth was quite eventful and I hope to have a posting about it shortly. For now a few photos to enjoy...

Born: May 26
6 lbs, 14 oz
20 inches long

Eight Happy Years!

Happy 8-Year Anniversary to us! Luckily, we were able to fit in a dinner date prior to the baby's arrival back in May in celebration of our anniversary! Jason and I noshed on a delicious cheese plate with a glass of wine at our favorite restaurant, Can-Can, followed by dinner at Zeus Gallery Cafe. (YES - as prego as I was...I enjoyed a wonderful glass of Pinot Noir. Oh, how I have missed you!)

Check out the cute maternity dress I'm wearing! Jason found it at a local maternity shop for just $40!

At this point, we were wondering...when will the baby arrive? At 38 1/2 weeks, I had decided that he was going to be late, just like his brother.

Playing Quietly In His Room

Lately, Jason and I have been saying our goodnights to Jackson and allowing him to "play quietly" in his room for 15 to 20 minutes before we officially get him into bed and off to la-la land. He's learned how to turn on his overhead light himself with one of those pool noodles that he calls his fireman's hose. Once he has light, he then gets out trucks/blocks/animals/puzzles/etc for one last bit of playtime. Keep in mind that he hasn't yet picked up on the meaning of "quiet". Just two nights ago for instance, he proudly sang his ABCs while playing the maracas. Well one night a few weeks back, we "forgot" about him because he actually was being quiet. Around 10pm on our way up to bed ourselves, I went in for the usually kiss on the forehead and placement of covers when I discovered that Jackson wasn't in his bed. I think the picture below speaks for itself on where he was! There really is never a dull moment with this one!
